If this is your first visit to Huangshan, it is highly recommended to enter the scenic area from Huangshan South Gate rather than the other gates as most of the popular attractions are near this gate.

The sightseeing bus operates from 09:30 to 19:30 and a ticket costs 20 CNY per person. The journey duration is about 1 hour from Huangshan North Railway Station to Huangshan South Gate.

You will disembark at Xinguoxian Huangshan Scenic Area Bus Station (新国线黄山风景区汽车站, xīn guó xiàn huáng shān fēng jǐng qū qì chē zhàn). Huangshan Tourist Distribution Center is near the bus station and you are required to take a shuttle bus to enter the scenic area from there.

If you don’t want to change buses twice, you can take a special tourist bus from Huangshan North Railway Station to Huangshan Scenic Area (Yungu Temple for Yungu Cable Car or Ciguang Pavilion for Yuping Cable Car). However, only two buses are available for these special tourist routes so you may spend more time waiting for the bus. The cost is 39 CNY per person.

Taxi

If you don’t want to waste time changing buses or waiting for the bus, you are advised to take a taxi to the Yellow Mountains straight from Huangshan North Railway Station. The cost is about 200 CNY.
